RemitClear has entered The A to Z of AI Accounting Software's World Ranking at 27th out of 310 vendors. It's our first appearance on the list, and one of 13 new entries in its September 2026 top 50.
The September ranking
The ranking covers AI software across the accounting and finance stack, from bookkeeping and tax to reporting, payables and receivables. RemitClear appears in Accounts Receivable, with an index score of 76.5 out of 100. The September edition was published on 9 September 2026, and the list is updated monthly, so our position is a snapshot of that edition.
The guide's published method looks at how central AI is to each product, what work it covers and the evidence behind its claims.
It's encouraging to be on a list that asks what the software does in a real finance workflow. As Damon Anderson noted when he shared the edition, the field has grown to 310 ranked vendors, and his team has been checking the evidence behind their AI claims. The guide is also working with AccountingWEB and FAB on their AI programme for 2027.
The job we built RemitClear for
A customer pays a single amount covering several invoices and sends a remittance advice listing what they've paid. The money is in the bank, but someone still has to read the document, find those invoices in Xero or QuickBooks Online, deal with any credits or deductions and apply the payment. Do that across dozens of customers and the work soon fills an afternoon.
RemitClear reads the advice, whether it arrives as a PDF, spreadsheet or email, and matches its invoice lines against the open invoices in the connected ledger. The finance team can review the proposed allocation and post it from one place. If the workspace has enabled unattended posting, a document that qualifies as a perfect match can go through without that review step. Anything that needs a decision stays with a person.
That last part matters. A payment advice can include a part-payment, a credit note, a deduction or an invoice number written differently from the one in the ledger. The point of using AI here is to do the reading and matching at the speed the work arrives, then show the team the exceptions they need to resolve. Our guide to matching confidence explains when a payment can post unattended and when it waits.
What the ranking means for a buyer
A world ranking is a useful way to find software you might otherwise miss. It can't tell a bookkeeper or finance manager which app fits the payment documents on their desk. The tools on the list do different jobs, and RemitClear's place is in applying money customers have already paid.
If that's the job you're trying to fix, there are a few things worth testing with your own remittances:
- Does the software find the right invoices when a payment covers many lines?
- What happens when the document includes a credit, deduction or amount that doesn't add up?
- Which payments can reach the ledger without a person approving them, and which wait?
- Can you trace the posted payment back to the original advice?
Those answers matter more than a position on a general list. We wrote up the fuller set of checks in four questions to ask a remittance automation vendor. If you've got a handful of awkward advices, bring them to a demo and see what RemitClear makes of them.
Thank you
Thanks to Damon and the A to Z team for including us, and to the customers who've kept sending us the remittances that make the product better. It's lovely to see this particular bit of finance work recognised alongside the rest of the AI accounting stack.
